How Difficulty Everest Base Camp Trek?

Journey to Everest Base Camp

Arrival in Nepal

The Trek Begins

Your adventure to the Everest Base Camp starts off with an exciting flight to Lukla. After landing at the Lukla Airport, on your first day, you will be trekking all the way from Lukla to Phakding. It takes almost 4-5 hours to reach Phakding. On the next day, from Phakding, with a total walking distance of 12 km, you will reach Namche Bazaar, also known as the gateway to the Himalayas.

From Namche Bazaar, you will be hiking to Tengboche, which is at an altitude of 3860 m. With a total distance of 10km, you will be walking for 6-7 hours. Moving forward, you will be trekking to Dingboche, which is at an elevation of 4350 m. You will get the chance to explore Dingboche the next day for acclimatization.

After spending two nights at Dingboche, you will head towards Lobuche. Located 12 km away from Dingboche with almost 7 hours of walking, you will come across Pheriche. Finally, you are now nearing toward the base camp.

From Lobuche, you will be hiking towards Gorekshep to Everest Base Camp and back to Gorekshep. Reaching an altitude of 5170 m, you will be walking for 8 hours. At the base camp, you will be able to see the Everest Peaks closely in front of your eyes. Now, from Gorekshep, you will be hiking up to Kalapatthar and down towards Pheriche, Namche Bazaar, and finally to Lukla airport.


The Return Trip

Your final destination is Kalapatthar, the place known to provide the best views of the Everest Himalayas. Once you reach here, you receive a gift- a heavenly feeling of standing right in front of the beautiful snow-clad peaks. With blissful memories, you now follow your footsteps back to Lukla. A relaxing vibe takes your soul as you fly through the beautiful terrain one last time. 


Difficulty Level of Everest Base Camp Trek

Everest Base Camp Trek lies at a very high elevation and is a challenging trek. This trek is moderately difficult, and the trek distance is also reasonably lengthy. The trails consist of numerous ups and downs.

However, this trek does require you to have at least some trekking experience and a certain level of physical fitness. With preparations such as cardiovascular exercises, training, and practice treks, you can efficiently complete this trek.

The most favorable or the best seasons to trek to Everest Base Camp are during the spring and autumn. During these seasons, the weather is average, and the temperature ranges from 16 degrees Celsius.

These seasons are known as the best season to travel to Everest as the weather is clear most of the time, which offers you the best clear panoramic view of the Everest ranges.
